American Online Personality Penalized Following Large-Scale E-Bike Gathering on Sydney Harbour Bridge
New South Wales authorities have levied a penalty against an US-based online influencer and served two driving violation citations for reported reckless operation following a large group of e-bike riders gathered on the famous Sydney landmark during peak-hour traffic on a weekday.
The Event: An Illegal Gathering
A gathering of around 40 individuals riding e-bikes and motorcycles travelled along the primary roadway of the bridge, an area where bicycle riding is banned. The assembly then turned around and traveled through the city’s CBD and a nearby district.
"There was potential for serious injury or fatalities," remarked NSW police assistant commissioner David Driver on the following day.
Law enforcement indicated they did not chase right away the riders out of safety concerns but rather found the assembly at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair near the Botanic Gardens, at which point they broke up.
Penalties Issued for Influencer
Later in the week, authorities stated they had issued the US social media influencer known as the influencer, twenty-six, with two violation tickets for negligent driving (with no death or previous bodily harm), carrying a penalty of over five hundred dollars and penalty points each, in relation to the bridge ride-out. Officials noted that inquiries were continuing.
The influencer reportedly has over 3.4 million subscribers on YouTube and more than 1.2m on Instagram.
Creator's Response
The content creator gave comments to a major newspaper this week following the event spread rapidly on digital platforms, stating he regretted giving "bike life" a bad reputation.
"I’ll probably take responsibility. That was among the safest gatherings I’ve ever seen," he told the publication. "I am a visitor here, so I’m going to abide by the laws and norms of the city. When I decided to do a public meeting it did not involve a ride-out, it was just to say hi near the bridge."
"I’m unfamiliar with the city, it was my fault we found ourselves on the bridge and I had two choices: either the group completes the entirety of the bridge and turns around, which is a crime. Or we reverse, basically, before we’re on the bridge. And I made the decision at the time to turn around."
Broader Context on E-Bike Regulation
The increase of electric bicycles on roads nationwide has sparked increasing demands for regulation. A senior government official, the minister, recently said that non-compliant electric bikes were a "complete hazard on the road."
"Young people have engaged in reckless acts on bikes ever since the early bicycle [but] the injuries that are coming into our ERs are truly severe," he said. "We must make sure we stop these things entering the country [and] police are given the authority to crack down, to confiscate them, to destroy them, to destroy them."
The state reported over two hundred injuries associated with ebikes in the previous year. But, in the initial half of 2025, that number jumped to 233 injuries plus four fatalities.
