Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many people into the NFL

That result could have created opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their eight and two rivals

Over in the NFC the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a major confrontation in week 11, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award

The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Did Josh Allen try too much or could it simply have been a bad day for Buffalo?

Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Bills to address

The Bills had secured seven victories in a row against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and display

MVP Josh Allen only achieved the team's opening first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - yes Miami had ten days to prepare but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the league's best offenses

Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two scores but rusher Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns

Containing the NFL's top running game was also key, with James Cook and company recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the season and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5 yard average

Additionally there were the three crucial turnovers, and the two from Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that the Dolphins turned into seven points just later

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a deficit on defense and Josh Allen attempting to do too much to dig his team from the situation - rather than the composed, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this year

Miami have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of a trend, but for the Bills they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the American Football Conference East

In Focus - Patriots See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Speaking of the New England, they're one of three different 8-2 teams in the NFL, all AFC sides, but could they be the top team?

You can pick holes in New England, the Broncos and Indianapolis actually for feasting on the weaker opponents, with only five of their combined 24 victories achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Indianapolis beating the Denver

Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Buffalo seems like a declaration

Their pair of losses occurred in new head coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven straight wins, similar to the Broncos, since then - but taking down Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to get ready was huge

Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he certainly earns credit for courage after taking some hard tackles in Tampa but hanging in there to steer his team to success

The defense is solid and rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating scores of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth runner to exceed 22mph this year on his initial touchdown

Although you can argue who 'the best' is technically, the Pats should be favourites to finish with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which features just one game against a winning team, albeit a significant contest against the Bills

Traveling to the Ravens is challenging too, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Chargers (who might also compete for first place but face the identical challenge) and additionally the Packers on the fixture list

The Colts also face the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jaguars to face. There is a long way to travel but the opportunity is open for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference

Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Week 11 Showdown

Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three different eight and two sides are NFC West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who each scored 40 burgers to go to 7-2 before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the pair in Los Angeles

Both have won four in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units allowing under 20 points a contest

Both could easily be without a loss as too - especially the Los Angeles as their pair of losses came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play deflected and run back by the Philadelphia for a touchdown

Seattle were also defeated to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the last kick of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are truly among the best sides in the NFL

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date

Player of the Week - Taylor
