Former British Broadcasting Corporation Advisers Undergo Members of Parliament's Questioning In the Wake of Assertions of Prejudice in Disclosed Memorandum

Ex- BBC consultants speaking at Members of Parliament

We begin with questions from Conservative MP the committee chair, that chairs the group.

She initiates by providing background to the unauthorized document prepared by Michael Prescott and released in a daily publication.

"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation slanting toward one side or the other, My only wish is for it straight, unbiased and just," he declares.

In response to a query if he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is institutionally biased, the adviser answers: "No, I do not. Let's be clear, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation creates is exceptional - including factual and fictional content."

Nevertheless, he states: "There exists real work that needs to be done at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

Another ex-adviser BBC consultant examined by the panel, Caroline Daniel, says she views the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it maintains a "ongoing system and vigorous discourse" on fluid and multifaceted issues.

"Was the BBC willing to engage in a proper discussion and exchange and take action?" she questions. "From my perspective, affirmative, they were."
