Black Caps batsman Kane Williamson is set to sit out the upcoming T20 series versus the English side however captain Mitchell Santner is back from injury to captain New Zealand's team
The experienced batsman, who hasn't featured in the national team after the tournament final defeat by India earlier this year, is expected to make his comeback during the three ODI matches against England which come next

The captain is now fit from a medical procedure, whereas all-rounder Rachin Ravindra returns to the squad following an injury to his face kept him out of the recent T20 series loss to Australia

Williamson opted to miss the recent Twenty20 matches against Australia under the terms in his playing contract for the national board, and he is also regaining complete match fitness after a "minor medical issue", as stated by head coach Rob Walter
